Knives recovered and teenagers arrested in Coventry

West Midlands Police has recovered three knives and arrested two teenagers after responding to reports of a boy being chased by a group armed with weapons in Coventry.

A 16-year-old boy was approached by three youths in Blackberry Lane, Walsgrave, at around 3pm yesterday (10 March).

He was pursued by the group, but thankfully managed to escape, as officers responded to a series of calls and rushed to the area.

Officers quickly identified two suspects and they were detained in Draycott Road where the knives were recovered. The teens, aged 14 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and remain in custody for questioning.

This is being treated as an isolated incident and we’re continuing with our enquiries.

Police are particularly keen to identify a third suspect and anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact us via Live Chat or by calling 101. Quote 20CV/68807V/21.
